The SEAS-SIAM was formed in 1977 to serve as a link among scientists, engineers, applied mathematicians and graduate students in the southeast and with SIAM. States included in the section are
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Membership is open to any interested person, including non-SIAM members. The main activity of the SEAS-SIAM is its annual meeting which contains a full program of invited and contributed talks, including student presentations.
