Videos

This year at GSSM SSP, the robotics course was offered each of the three weeks. Several parents and students asked for copies of the video presentations that were made for their respective class. Links to each of the videos have been provided below. To download a file to your computer, right-click the link and choose "save link as...".

Note: The files are large, meant for making DVDs, and may take some time to download, depending on your connection speed. If you have trouble viewing a file with Windows Media Player on XP, try downloading and installing Windows Media Classic Player with its codec pack.

This year also saw an important first: This is the first time the robotics course has been offered to rising eight-graders, and the first time an SSP course has been offered to rising eighth-graders. The students impressed a lot of people, and we may see more of that in the future.

These videos are posted primarily as a convenience to SSP campers and their parents who want to view the videos or make copies. Uses other than viewing require written consent of Dr. Rudolph and of the Governor's School. If this becomes a problem for The Citadel, The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, or the instructor (Dr. George Rudolph), this page will be removed.

I hope the students enjoyed the class, that you enjoy the videos, and have on-going fun with your Lego Mindstorms NXT systems.

First Lego League

We used the NanoQuest Challenge Set from the First Lego League 2006 season. The World Championships were recently held in Atlanta, GA. We are also grateful to Kristie Brown, the South Carolina Lego Education representative, whose invaluable support helped make the course a success with the new NXT technology.

If you are interested in starting or joining a First Lego League competition team at your school or in your area, information is available online at the First Lego League website.
