The prerequisite for MATH132 is a grade of C or better in MATH 131 (or HONR107). A grade of C or better in MATH131 requires that the student pass a "gateway" exam on differentiation techniques. The exam consists of seven problems, six of which must be solved correctly within 20 minutes, using paper and pencil only.
The prerequisite for MATH231 is a grade of D or better in MATH132 (or HONR108). A grade of D or better in MATH132 requires that the student pass a "gateway" exam on integration techniques. The exam consists of seven problems, six of which must be solved correctly within 25 minutes, using paper and pencil only.
Gateway exams are given several times per week, beginning Tuesday, February 11, and ending Tuesday, April 22, according to the following schedule. If you cannot attend any of these sessions you should speak with your instructor immediately. You may take an exam as often as necessary, but only once during each exam period. You need to begin an exam at least 20 (resp. 25) minutes before the end of the exam period.
